I've lived this game from every side of the table. As a youth football coach in Avon, Ohio, I coached a group of kids from their first snaps — and watched them go on to win back-to-back high school state championships.

Then recruiting came to my own house: my son Ryan was one of Ohio's top linebacker prospects, with twenty Division I offers. Through his recruitment I saw what college coaches really do — the hours spent finding, tracking, and evaluating hundreds of kids while still game-planning for Saturday.

I've spent 25 years building enterprise software, so I started asking scouts and staffers what tools they actually used. The answer was spreadsheets, screenshots, and scrolling.
